Description
What it is
The rectangular charcoal (carbon) pad that sits under an over-the-range microwave and takes cooking odours, grease vapour and smoke out of the air before it is recirculated into the kitchen. It is a consumable: it loads up with grease and stops working long before it looks worn.
Why a 3-pack
These pads are meant to be changed every 6–12 months, and they are light enough that shipping one at a time costs more than the filter. A 3-pack covers about three years and works out cheaper per filter than buying singly.
Replaces
5230W1A003A and WB06X10807. It is a flat rectangular pad with a frame, not a round cartridge — measure the filter slot in your microwave before ordering.
Fitting
Open the grille on the underside or the front of the microwave, slide the old pad out and the new one in. No tools, a couple of minutes.
