Description
What it is
A rotary selector switch for electric ranges and wall ovens in the Frigidaire / Electrolux family. The switch carries the element load, so it is the part that fails when a burner stops heating on some settings but still works on others, or when the knob turns with no click.
Why a 3-pack
Ranges have several of these switches and they see the same duty cycle, so when one goes the others are usually not far behind. Three switches covers a full set on most models, and spares on the shelf turn the second failure into a ten-minute job.
Rating
240V, 8.5–16.8A, 1/3 HP — taken from the rating plate on the switch itself. Compare it with the switch you are removing before you order.
Replaces
316436001 — also marked 21C-560GW, M2 6123256 and SUNCON.
Fitting
Isolate the range at the breaker — 240V is lethal. Pull the knob, remove the back panel, photograph the terminal layout before you disconnect anything, then swap the switch and refit the wires one at a time.
Before you order
Send us the model number from the range rating plate and we will confirm the fit before you buy. If it does not fit, we replace it.
