Description
What it is
The dual solenoid water inlet valve that feeds the ice maker and the water dispenser on a large family of Frigidaire, Electrolux, Kenmore and Crosley refrigerators. It mounts on the back of the cabinet and switches the water supply between the dispenser and the ice maker.
Why a 2-pack
These valves fail from mineral scale and from sitting under line pressure for years — usually the ice maker side first, so the dispenser keeps working and the fault looks intermittent. The valve is cheap; the call-out is not. A spare on the shelf turns a second failure into a ten-minute job.
Replaces
242252702 and 240531101. Confirm the part number on the valve you are removing.
Fitting
Pull the fridge out, shut off the supply, and disconnect the water line and the two harness plugs. Take a photo of the tubing before you remove it — the outlet ports are easy to swap. Check for a crushed or scaled supply line while you are in there, and replace the inlet screen if it is clogged.
Before you order
Send us your refrigerator model number and we will confirm the fit before you buy. If it does not fit, we replace it.
